I think its overcompressed, its ok to have a loud mix, but when u overcompress, which u can tell by the waveform (its straight af) its squashed and it just sounds muddy and distorted. You need to keep balance between loudness and a good dynamic range (amplitude between the loudest and lowest peak). If you want a more professional mix u need to be more careful with mastering :)

Most of the trance references I use are squashed as well and they sound excellent and louder. I can simply lower the volume but thats not the loudness I want.
If they leave 6 db headroom for mastering I would assume they leave it for gain by the compressor.
Busy mixes with a lot of stuff going around are a challenge. I could try lower the volume of background instruments but I dont know if it helps.
Btw turn off the kick and the waveform is down

Sure, i set the bpm to 171, use drums and try not to sound so cluttered, use the sidechain, use fl studio mobile :)

Edit: then hi cut the reeverb a litle bit, it sound too muddy now
